Talking Alarm Clock:

For the past few weeks, I’ve been working on building a talking alarm clock that wakes me up with the date, time, weather, schedule, to do items, and other goodies.

There’s still a long way to go, but I’m proud of the work I’ve done thus far.

CPU Usage Geektool Script

I was having a ton of trouble finding a working CPU Usage Geektool script.

Most of the ones out there weren’t working.

This one does:

echo “CPU Usage”
top -l 1 | fgrep “CPU usage” | awk ‘{print “User : ” $3}’
top -l 1 | fgrep “CPU usage” | awk ‘{print “Sys : ” $5}’
top -l 1 | fgrep “CPU usage” | awk ‘{print “Idle : ” $7}’

Alarm App

I think I want to build an alarm clock app for my Mac that tells me the time, the weather, maybe checks my email, reads me the news, etc.

I think the best route to take would be to use some AppleScript to pull the information from different websites and apps and have the computer read it to me.

Does anyone know of a great option for this that already exists?
